Schedule 520-9: Financial and Business Solutions/Recovery Audits

HMS's healthcare recovery audit services are now available to Federal purchasers through the GSA Schedule. HMS offers:

• Identification and/or collection of third-party liabilities: identification of third-party payment sources (e.g., employer group health plans) and/or recovery of Federal health plan expenditures when third-party liability exists
  
  
• Casualty/tort liability identification and collection: identification of and recovery from third-party payment sources (e.g., workers' compensation and casualty insurance) available to Federal health plan beneficiaries who have been injured due to the willful or negligent action of another party
  
  
• Overpayment identification and recovery: identification and recovery of health plan overpayments (e.g., due to errors such as missing or inappropriately applied claim edit codes)
  
  
• Provider credit balance audit and recovery: identification and recovery of Federal health plan payments and contractual adjustments, as posted to individual patient accounts, that exceed a provider's total charges
